Antique Leather Clad Oak Dining Table c.1900 – Extending with Leather Leaves
$ 93.82
Antique leather clad dining table A very striking antique leather clad dining table dating to around 1900, solid oak with a beautifully aged studded leather top. The table extends to a generous size and retains its original leather-covered leaves, which are stored neatly beneath. Once opened, it comfortably accommodates a larger gathering, making it both a practical and highly decorative centrepiece for a dining area. The combination of solid oak and hand-applied leather gives it real presence, with the close-set brass studding adding a nice decorative edge. The base is well constructed with turned legs and stretcher supports and the leather top has developed a rich, time-worn patina, with surface wear consistent with age and use that adds character and depth. Originally part of a larger dining room set, this table stands perfectly well on its own and would suit both a traditional or more “eclectic” interior. Definitely something with a bit more presence than your average dining table, alternatively it could be used as a rather nice desk.
